Working Knowers was a private illustration commission. The subject was the client’s master thesis on the myth of meritocracy, and how this affect the production and evalution of knowledge by the working class.

Based on the thesis abstract I came up with the concept. All the people were inspired by people I knew in real life – people who work as nurses, cleaners, in the food industry, as retail workers. We went back and forth on what level of abstraction worked and various color options before ending up with the final illustration.
